(Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)Confidence is key when it comes to playing sports, and it’s very apparent that Alabama’s latest recruit won’t have any issue in that department. The Crimson Tide must have been thrilled after landing five-star running back Trey Sanders, who is listed as the No. 5 recruit in the entire 2019 class, per 247Sports. His production on the field speaks for itself, but the potential-packed tailback also has no problem setting high expectations for himself.Sanders isn’t just going to Alabama to become another great running back for the prestigious program, he’s entering Tuscaloosa with lofty goals in mind.Playing for the Crimson Tide will definitely provide an opportunity to win a national championship, but the five-star recruit has his eyes on the best individual award in the country. It is very evident that Sanders wants to win the Heisman Trophy as a true freshman.Alabama RB commit Trey Sanders on ESPNU with a bold prediction: “As a freshman, I do play on winning the Heisman, nothing less. If I come short, I will be a finalist.” https://t.co/kpatDLPZCQ— Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) December 19, 2018It would be quite the achievement for Sanders if he could earn that honor in his first year on campus. The last two Heisman Trophy winners from Alabama were Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry, as both tailbacks were dominant at the collegiate level.Regardless of whether or not he meets his expectations for next season, the Crimson Tide must be thrilled to have Sanders for the foreseeable future.
