When a regular fondant-covered wedding cake just won’t do for your big day, Costco is offering a cheesy alternative — a five-tier, 24-pound wedding “cake” made completely out of cheese. Now available to purchase from Costco’s website, the Sid Wainer & Son Cheese Lover Artisan Wedding Cake serves up to 150 people and costs $440.Photo Credit: CostcoFive different gourmet cheeses make up the cake: Red Leicester (“sweet, medium-strong flavor and crumbly texture”), Danish Blue (“subtle and tangy with only mild bleu cheese flavor”), Murcia al Vino (flavorful “drunken goat cheese” immersed in local Murcia wine), Tuscan Sheep’s Cheese (“slightly sharp, nutty taste that improves with age”), and Brillat Savarin Triple Cream Brie (“luscious triple cream brie from the Normandy region of France with a soft, velvety texture and creamy flavor”).The cake will need some assembly, but don’t worry, the instructions are pretty easy. Costco recommends stacking the cheeses with the largest wheel on the bottom and the smallest on top. Flowers, ribbons, and other decorations are not included.Photo Credit: CostcoAlthough this five-layer cheesy wonder is advertised as a wedding cake, we think cheese lovers will appreciate it for any occasion.“This is a tasty substitute to a traditional wedding cake and perfect for any formal event,” Costco also says on the description.More on Geek.com:Costco Sells Out of 27-Pound ‘Storage Bucket’ Mac and Cheese With 20-Year Shelf LifeThese ‘Drinkable’ Chips Will Keep Your Phone Grease-FreeA Pickle Bouquet Could Be Your Next Edible Valentine’s Day Gift Stay on targetlast_img
