Inter Milan insist Manchester United target has no release clause

first_img The Red Devils failed to agree a fee for the Croatian in the summer Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has no release clause in his current contract with Inter Milan, according to sporting director Piero Ausilio.Jose Mourinho remains a huge fan of the 28-year-old and is expected to launch another bid in January.Inter are reluctant to part with the Croatia international, but Perisic is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.However, sporting director Ausilio has confirmed that the winger has never asked to leave the San Siro giants and admits there was no need to insert a release clause into his current contract.“Nobody denies that this offer from Manchester United arrived, but we and [Inter Milan manager Luciano] Spalletti wanted him to be a key player for us and we were convinced that our project could be just as successful as the one the English club were offering,” Ausilio told Mediaset.“Ivan never asked to leave and his new contract is the logical consequence of that.
